Join us for this very
special presentation of
Smooth Jazz vocalist
Slim Man
in a jazz cabaret
setting...a fundraiser to keep the
jazz concerts alive and well.
NOTE, we presented this in a small intimate supper club
setting and was very successful...watch for more presentations
like this. Slim and the band was fantastic. Thanks to all who
attended.
This evening's festivities
will help us raise money to keep the smooth jazz concerts
alive in our community.
As you probably know, ticket sales do
not cover the cost of an event like ours. Through the generosity of our
sponsors,
staff, Slim Man and all those who support
smooth jazz, we thank you from our hearts.
Help keep the music
alive.
On
Saturday, October 7, 2006,
we will present Slim Man as you have never seen him before. He
will be performing in a Cabaret Style, using a Grand Piano...a
"Special Evening in an Intimate Setting"
This evening will allow Slim to perform some of his more
romantic tunes, tunes that are from his heart. his soul and his
feelings. You all know how captivating he is in a crowd of
hundreds...now this is for a select few true Slim Man fans and
lovers of really great music. You will hear many tunes he has
written that have not been heard before, tunes from his upcoming CD
release "Amoré"
as well as
some of his great hits and a few jazz classics.
Also
for the evening we will be featuring a truly gourmet meal, 4courses,
prepared by the expert
hands of Jacob's Fine dining which we feel is probably the best
restaurant in the area.
The meal offerings were designed to compliment the evening's performance.
There is complete no-host cocktail and wine service.
Nick delights in his audiences and the feeling is
mutual. His personality and showmanship combined with his energy and
incredible command of the guitar assures everyone of having a great time!
From clubs like the Roxy in L.A. to the main stage of Chicago's famed Navy
Pier Skyline Stage, Nick spreads the word that jazz is alive and well (and
living in a very funky guy!)

A Labor Day Celebration and CD Release Party with
Greg
Adams
Be the first
on your block to pick up this new CD at the concert.
An Evening With
Native Vibe One of our areas
favorite "Smooth Jazz" groups has gone a bit wild with their
African/Cuban/Latin influenced music. Members of this group are from
South America, Costa Rica, Cuba, Africa, and America and bring each of
their country's musical influence to us right here in little ol' Modesto.
We are
purposely keeping this concert small, intimate and interesting
Folks, this was one
incredible performance...every note, every nuance and every beat was
extraordinary. Thanks Bill & Nee for putting together a great
evening of you music...the best!

UJC opens the Festival at
2:00 PM and performs until
3:15.
Slim Man As most of you know, this man is the
greatest smooth jazz vocalist out there today, he is the only person that
has a standing gig with us each year. We love him, and if you are not
familiar with him....you will too.
He will perform some tunes from his instrumental group
Bona Fide
The
Slim Man,
Bona Fide
show starts at 3:45PM and runs until 5:00 PM
Eric Darius
Considered to be the hottest new sax players to hit the smooth jazz airwaves
and concert arena today. He has been performing as Brian's sax guy and
now is branching out with his own solo career. He is totally in demand on
the concert circuit. we are lucky to get him.
Eric Darius
Eric takes the stage at 5:30 PM
and performs until
6:45 PM
His first solo performance in our area.
Craig Chaquico
Craig has been a staple
in our jazz concert for the past 10 years. He only gets better, more
exciting and just absolutely continues to wow our audiences. As the former
lead guitarist for the Jefferson Starship, he will occasionally toss in a
few bars of rock of that era. Craig is one of our all time
favorites...all time! ! !
Craig
Chaquico
Craig takes the "Headliner Slot"
at 7:15 PM and performs until
8:30 PM
Turning Point
as a turning point in our concerts, last years festival
fans made us hire them back for this year, right there while they were on
stage. This group is full of fire an grace, some of the most
imaginative music you will ever experience in this jazz genera. Their
Spanish/Flamenco percussive style will totally enthrall you to the point of
near hysteria. Closing the festival this year, we want you to go out
dancing, and you will.
Turning
Point
Turning Point takes the
"Closing Slot" at 9:00PM PM and plays until 10:00 PM or
whenever "they" close us down. Hopefully we will get by until 10:15 or
more.

Jazz,
Smooth Jazz?...The name says it and for those of you visiting this website
for the first time or are not familiar with it, let me explain. It
is smooth, sort of like lite rock without words. Smooth? yes, on the
radio, recorded purposely to be relaxing, non offending, totally enjoyable
and pretty. This is what you may experience on the Central Valley's
Smooth Jazz Radio Station...."the
River,105.5
FM. LIVE...it is a whole different ball game, it is
thrilling fun, uplifting, heart pumping, get up dance, feel the rhythm,
in-your-face, tight wild and wonderful music. The music moves you,
it shrouds you in a fog of passion and emotion...it is played with more
feeling than one can imagine. It is tight and perfect. These players
are absolutely, unequivocally, some of the best musicians in the world
today. They have worked their way up to be the best of the best.
One can't truly appreciate true musicianship until one experiences these
people in an intimate, up-close and personal setting. If you are "on
the fence" about seeing a live performance, jump over...just once and see
what it is all about. We select our performers very carefully, not
necessarily are the biggest names always the best performers, and we keep
that in mind. We want you to experience the best in "Smooth Jazz"
youwill be amazed. We work hard to bring to each
evening a wonderful experience of good people, good wine, and outstanding
music...join us and you won't be disappointed.
