| About eArtsNews.com
OUR GOAL with eArtsNews.com is to provide a place where all arts groups within the
Central Valley area can list and promote their offerings. Our
initial territory spans from Sacramento to the North, Merced to the South,
the Sierras to the East, and the foothills to the West. Other
territories will follow.
We intend to provide equal opportunity to all bona fide arts groups on
an equal basis regardless of size or wealth. No favorites, no
priorities. We will list each artist, arts group or venue with
approximately the same amount of information space. See examples
below
We are presenting the opportunity for individuals and businesses to
expose themselves to the arts community of patrons and artists, a very
desirable section of the economy. With your support, we can keep the
promotion/advertising to the Arts Community free. This is how we
hope to keep everyone equal. We believe that some of the smallest
under-funded groups present arts and entertainment as creatively and
professionally as the larger
more well funded and popular events...and we want the public to know and
understand this. The small artists, arts groups and venues do not
have the means to promote themselves like, say the Gallo Center for the
Arts or Bob Hope Theatre.
HISTORY
eArtsNews.com was launched in 2001 as a source to provide arts venues an
ultimate source to promote their projects as well as give the
discriminating arts patron a one-stop source for their Arts and
Entertainment needs and desires. As with best laid plans, it was too
much for one person to manage so eArtsNews.com became used primarily for
my concert productions as well as a few listings for others.
Over the years, eArtsNews.com became quite heavily visited to find out
about all our concerts listed under the names of John Griswold & Friends,
Global Jazz Cafe and John Griswold Presents.
Our viewers and users are born of the SMOOTH JAZZ genre (meaning that
this site was used for years to promote jazz concerts) and jazz by
nature attracts, and I Quote from one of the major jazz radio stations
study on their demographics:
"The smooth
jazz demographics is above most other demographics economically, and as
such , is older and more sophisticated in taste and
awareness. Some advertising guru has determined that an older
audience doesn’t spend money on impulsive buys".

Notes about the arts from
California Arts Council and others.
C.A.C.
• California’s nonprofit arts attract 71.2 million people.
A closer look at the activities of
those 71.2 million includes participants taking dance and
pottery classes, season subscribers
attending the ballet, family members attending arts festivals,
residents attending exhibitions
at the neighborhood arts center, and youngsters enrolled in
drawing classes. Among the 71.2
million persons are 6 million tourists. In this report, 71.2
million is calculated by counting
the number of times one individual attends events in the
course of the year. For example, if
one person attends eight events a year, she is counted eight
times.
