Jeff Kashiwa
Sunday Aug. 8
Native Vibe
Friday,  Sept. 3
Marc Antoine
End of Sept or first of Oct

Jeff will be performing with Rico Belled of the Rippingtons on bass,  Allen Hinds on guitar and Dave Hooper on Drums.

Jeff is certainly one of the most popular performers in the smooth jazz genre.

Native Vibe leaders, Bill Macpherson (Guitar) will be traveling up from Costa Rica and one of the greatest bass players in the world, Nee Sackey will be coming in from his home in Africa for this performance.  Bill and Nee will be joined by several member of the Native Vibe Alumni stationed in Los Angeles.

Marc Antoine will be coming in from his home is Spain for a US tour of which we were fortunate enough to manage to get a date. Unlike the numerous times he has performed for our Modesto audiences, he will be performing an acoustic evening, intimate and in connection with the audience.

Additional information for
Jeff Kashiwa
One of the most diverse, in demand sax players in all of contemporary jazz, Jeff Kashiwa finds pure joy at the heart of his increasingly fast-paced touring schedule by reminding himself, every time he gets on stage, that he’s there to do one thing: Play!

Over the last few years, he’s been doing just that to the tune of almost 100 performances annually, bringing his trademark exuberance to gigs with his longtime band Coastal Access, shows across the country with The Sax Pack (featuring fellow genre A-listers Steve Cole & Kim Waters), dates in the U.S. and England with Acoustic Alchemy and others with Chuck Loeb. Last year, he also reunited with The Rippingtons – whom he originally recorded and toured with from 1990-99 – for the group’s 20th Anniversary Tour; he will be joining his former band for many dates this Summer as well.

Allen  Hinds

Allen Hinds @ The Baked Potato

A native of Auburn, Alabama, Allen was exposed to blues and R&B at an early age. Moving into jazz and fusion in his teens, he attended Berklee College of Music and shortly after, moved to Los Angeles to attend Musician’s Institute.

Allen has a touch that most guitarists would kill for. Utilizing influences ranging from Wayne Shorter to the Beatles, his style is exciting and eclectic.

He has performed and/or recorded with jazz and R&B luminaries including Patti Austin, Mary J. Blige, Maya, Natalie Cole, Roberta Flack, BeBe and CeCe Winan, Randy Crawford, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, The Crusaders, Bobby Caldwell, James Ingram, Marilyn Scott, Eric Marienthal, Boney James, Marc Antoine, Gino Vannelli and many, many others.

Dave Hooper

He used to go to work with his dad, who writes music for TV commercials. When his voice changed, and he realized he couldn’t sing, Dave decided he had to take up an instrument. Drums seemed like the right instrument to torment his parents with.

Dave attended North Texas State University for 2 years, and then realized college was for sissies. Not really. He studied with Peter Erskine, Gregg Bissonette, Steve Houghton, Joe Porcaro, David Garibaldi, Tom Brechtlein, and spent many hours jamming in his garage with roommate, Gary Novak.

Some of his career’s highlights have been working with Toni Braxton, Herbie Hancock, Sheryl Crow, David Sanborn, Marcus Miller, George Duke, Lee Ritenour, Diane Warren, Due Voci, Griffith Frank, The Rippingtons, David Byrne, Warren Hill, Joe Sample, The Manhattan Transfer, Chaka Kahn, and James Ingram

Ricardo "Rico" Belled

coachhouse_18.jpg

Born and raised in Holland, Rico Belled is best known as the Grammy-nominated bassist for The Rippingtons. Now based in Los Angeles, CA, he's worked with artists in many genres, ranging from Liza Minnelli to Eddie Money, Eric Marienthal to The Dan Band.

Piano being his first instrument, Rico is also an accomplished guitarist and producer, releasing his first solo record entitled The Pursuit Of Comfort in 2010. A prolific composer, his music has found its way to records and TV all over the world

"I try to convey as much feeling as possible, to make the music feel as good as possible. It's important to tell a story, not just play a bunch of notes in a row. I love so many different styles, but there's gotta be a groove. I always try to find meaning in everything I play, even when it might not be my favorite tune to play."
